Graduate Recruitment – A career start second to none

Begin your career brilliantly at BAE Systems Australia. The pursuit of knowledge has led to some of our most innovative solutions. Help us continue the journey. With more than 600 engineers, BAE Systems Australia is fast becoming the leading employer of engineers in Australia. We plan to create 500 new jobs over the next five years, with many of these at graduate-entry level.

Competition for graduate opportunities is fierce. We look for superior academic results, strong interpersonal and team work skills, leadership potential and a demonstrated appreciation for structured engineering environments.

Graduates are supported through our Graduate Development Program, which results in formal recognition as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng).

We also offer extensive in-house training, mentoring programs, challenging work and plenty of development opportunities. In conjunction with the University of South Australia, we are developing an in-company model for accredited training and education. This will enable employees to take advantage of BAE Systems' internal training toward gaining a University qualification at Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters level.

Graduate recruitment activity usually starts in the second half of the year. Roles are advertised in the media, at careers fairs, throughout universities, on various careers web sites and of course, right here at our own careers web site.

Cadetship Programs

A limited number of Cadetships are offered to final year university students each year. These opportunities provide individuals with paid work experience to complement final year studies and better yet, provide them with a tremendous kick start to their careers. Cadets work along-side seasoned professionals and contribute meaningfully to some of the most exciting work of our time.

Recruitment activity for Cadets usually starts in the second half of the year for the following year's intake. Vacancies are advertised in the print media, at careers fairs, on various careers internet sites and on our own careers web site.

Apprenticeships & Trainee Programs

We're committed to developing talent for the future and it's through our apprenticeship and traineeship programs that this is possible. Apprentices are employed predominantly within our Manufacturing (metal trades) and Military Air Support (aircraft maintenance engineers) businesses but traineeships are offered company wide, across a variety of disciplines.

Recruitment of apprentices and trainees normally occurs on an annual basis, from mid year onward and is predominantly done through organisations such as:

 Engineering Employers Association      http://www.eeagts.asn.au
 Maxima                                                         http://maxima.com.au/
 Hunter Group Training                              http://www.hvtc.com.au
