Careers on new programs
Maritime
BAE Systems has been awarded a $270 million contract to upgrade seven Royal Australian
Navy ANZAC class frigates, with the Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD) capability.
The new contract follows the successful upgrade of HMAS Perth in early 2011.
Our shipyard in Henderson, Western Australia, will be used to carry out the majority
of this large and vital project through to its completion in 2017. To meet the demand
of this exciting new work, applications are now welcome for current and upcoming
trades and staff positions on our team.
BAE Systems Australia is also the prime contractor for the design and construction
of the Landing Helicopter Dock amphibious ships for the Royal Australian Navy. This
work is being conducted at our shipyard in Williamstown, Victoria and will continue
until 2015.
The Landing Helicopter Dock’s electrical outfitting work will commence in March
2012. As such applications are now sought from suitably qualified and experienced
Electrical Supervisors, Power Systems Terminators, Fibre Optic Terminators, MilSpec
Terminators and Electrical Assemblers/Installers.
Security and IT
Our Intelligence and Information Systems (I&IS) business successfully competed for
a position in the Applications Managed Services Partner Arrangement as the preferred
partner for Warfighter and Intelligence solutions. As a result, we anticipate that
we will enjoy strong growth and interesting challenges in supporting the Department
of Defence to deliver ICT solutions. We are seeking talented people to join our
team in roles including but not limited to project management, solutions/systems
architecture, business analysis, software development and ICT engineering.
Aerospace
To meet the demand of increasing work-scope, additional roles have been created
for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in Townsville and Williamtown (Newcastle). Whilst
Australian citizenship is preferred, Australian residents and those seeking Australian
residency are welcome to express interest now too. Some conditions apply.

ever before as we further develop our Diversity and Inclusion policies and practices.
If you see a job advertised on a full time basis that appeals to you but would prefer
to work more flexible or shorter hours, please feel free to express your interest
in that role. Wherever possible, we will be flexible.
